Fashion in the 1960's have been portrayed in many ways, some have been through films, music, fashion magazines and mostly icons from the 60's such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn  and Twiggy.

Some famous quotes by fashion icons;
"What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No.5, of course."- Marilyn Monroe
"I don't know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot."- Marilyn Monroe
"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries or the way she combs her hair."- Audrey Hepburn

Twiggy and her trend set eyelashes

A big trend that was set by Twiggy in the 1960's was wearing false eyelashes. Another make up trend that was set was cat-like eyeliner with thick black lashes.

Two Mods
There were many different styles in the 60's and that includes the 'Mods'. They were known as the 'cool kids' as it was a youth subculture. Mods travelled around on customised scooters and listened to the likes of 'The Who'. They were "fashion obsessed' as a lot of their clothing consisted of expensive suits or military parkas while for the women mini skirts and Chelsea boots became the fashion.

Personally, I love the 60's! I think it was a great time to experiment with the different sub cultures and trends, including the Mods, wearing mini skirts and short pixie hair styles. I also think that the make up from the 60's has influenced a lot of todays trends; false eyelashes, thick eyeliner.
